CCC acts as public guardian for incapacitated, indigent adults when there is no other suitable person willing or able to serve in such capacity. Without us, they would be out of options.
Clients receive ongoing care management, financial management, social engagement, and attention to any other needs they may have.
Our guardianship program offers local public guardianship services to adults who can’t make informed personal and/or financial decisions for themselves. Potential clients are referred to the program when all other efforts to find a guardian for the client have been exhausted.
CCC is the guardian of ‘last resort’—meaning there is no one else to assist these clients in their affairs. Guardianship is an option of last resort after less restrictive alternatives are pursued.
CCC has been designated by the Virginia Department for the Aging as a public guardian and conservator provider.
