| Must
your employees be
Catholic? |
| No. We are an equal
opportunity employer
with a workforce that
reflects the State
population and, to
the extent possible
that of the clients
we serve. |
| |
| What
amount of the funding
you receive goes directly
to serving your clients? |
| Nationally, Catholic
Charities USA has
been rated as one
of the most efficient
charities by Smart
Money magazine. Locally,
Commonwealth Catholic
Charities is proud
to report that 85
cents of every $1.00
goes to operate one
of our many programs. |
| |
| Do
you receive most of
your funding from
the Diocese of Richmond? |
| No. Less than one
percent of our funding
comes from the diocese.
The greatest source
of funding is service
fees from clients,
including government
entities. However,
we rely on contributions
from various United
Ways and individuals
to provide us the
means to meet the
needs of some of our
most vulnerable citizens
as well as a margin
to operate. |
| |
| How
is Commonwealth Catholic
Charities funded? |
| We are pleased to
have many funding
partners. For the
year ended June 30,
2006, we received approximately
$10 million. Service
fees from State and
local service agencies
along with client
fees represented 64%
of our revenues, government
grants represented
19%, contributions
and foundations represented
12%, United Way contributed
3%, and the remaining
2% came from parishes,
the Catholic Diocese
of Richmond, and other
sources. Less than 10% of fees come from clients. |
